This section features all the SOS funded projects currently being implemented. At present only a limited number of pilot projects have been funded following the recommendation of the SOS Donor Council to support existing grant making mechanisms during the SOS project preparation.
The following programmes received a pilot SOS Threatened Species Grant in 2010:
In addition, one pilot SOS Rapid Action Grant was assigned to the Saiga Conservation Alliance for their “Building public engagement for conservation of the Ural saiga population following a mass die-off” project following the death of nearly 12,000 Saigas in western Kazakhstan in May 2010.
These projects will be joined by many others before the end of 2011, once the revision process for the June 2011 SOS call for proposals will be completed.
